We have so much appreciation for our community, and love to highlight one athlete each month that exemplifies hard work and commitment. Meet Donte Villery! Donte started his Terminus journey bright and early at the 5am class! Even will a changing work schedule, Donte arrives each morning to work hard, have fun, and bring good energy to everyone around him. Let’s dive into his journey at Terminus a little further, and make sure to give him a high five the next time you see him in the gym!
Q: How long have you been going to Terminus? What changes have you seen in yourself
(physically or mentally) since joining?
I joined Terminus in March, so seven months now already. I took a break from CrossFit in
2024 for about 8 months so physically I feel like I’m getting my strength back. Also,
Coach Grant has helped me a lot with my gymnastic movements. Small things he has
shown have made more efficient at them.
Q: How has your journey at Terminus helped you outside the gym?
I have two young daughters who are very active so being in shape is very important to
me. Working out at Terminus helps me stay in the shape needed to keep up with them.
Q: Who inspires you at the gym, and how do they inspire you?
The entire 5am crew. Getting up early to workout is very hard but I know every day that
the crew will be there. This makes it easier to show up. We are always pushing each
other to do our best and competing everyday with them is awesome.
Q: How would you describe what it’s like to be a part of Terminus?
The best part about Terminus is the community. I just moved to Georgia from Texas so
was nervous about joining a new box. After my first-class I knew Terminus was the place
for me. Everyone was so welcoming and supportive. The programing is great too.
Q: Tell us about your first day of class at Terminus.
My first class was on a Thursday. Coach Bryson was coaching and was very welcoming.
I love how we began class with a question of the day and everyone introducing
themselves. This Thursday workout was more of an active recovery day which was
perfect for it being my first day.
Q: What is something that we may not know about you?
I’m a very picky eater. I don’t eat condiments or salads at all. I need to do better.
Q: What are your top 3 memories or proudest moments in CrossFit?
One of my top memories was when I finally was able to get muscle up. That was a great
day. Another top memory is when I made podium during my first individual competition.
My last top memory took place in 2018 when I placed 127 the in the Open for the South-
Central Region.
Q: Moving forward, do you have any short term or long-term goals in the gym?
I haven’t competed in the Open since 2018 so I’m looking forward to participating this
coming year. Excited about Friday Night Lights at Terminus for the first time.
