Customer of the MonthSeptember

Jim Schumaker

We have so much appreciation for our community, and love to highlight one athlete each month that exemplifies hard work and commitment. Meet Jim! Only a few months into his Terminus, John is always cheering on those around him, and has often been referred to as a “bright spirit”. We’re so proud of the improvements John has made so far, so let’s dive into his journey at Terminus a little further, and make sure to give him a high five the next time you see him in the gym!

Q: How long have you been going to Terminus?
How has your journey at Terminus helped you outside the gym?
I joined Terminus in February of 2025. Terminus had been great outlet for me when my work life is out of balance. Thinking about the gym and prioritizing to get there helps me relax

Q: Who inspires you at the gym, and how do they inspire you?
Everyone is an inspiration! Everyone is on their own journey at terminus at every level fitness. Seeing us all band together to complete a workout and cheer each other on as uplifting and moving.

Q: How would you describe what it’s like to be a part of Terminus?

Being a member of Terminus is unlike any other gym I have been to. Everyone is there to support and to uplift eachother to get through the journey that they’re on. Not only in the gym but out of the gym there’s so many groups that you can join to meet people or to continue your fitness outside of the box.

Q:  Tell us about your first day of class at Terminus.

Little scared to be honest! It was a day when everyone was doing muscle up, and I could barely do a pull up. But again, with the coaches helping me and other classmates cheering me on I felt immediately comfortable and wanted to push myself even further.

Q: What is something that we may not know about you?
My job makes me get out of my comfort zone with being extroverted, but I am actually an introvert and I really like quiet nights at home.

Q: What are your top 3 memories or proudest moments in CrossFit?

1. Finishing a long run and not in last place
2. Completing a full wall walk WOD
3. Being able to cheer fellow gym athletes on to finish a workout

Q: Moving forward, do you have any short term or long term goals in the gym?
Just always try to be a better version of myself before and after class, and to not give up keep moving forward.
